New Years

New Years Eve was quite the day! I started it out at 5 a.m. waking up for practice with my team we had a pretty successful 6 hour practice finishing our kick routine and now have this week to clean all the little things before competition on saturday. After practice I came home and slept for about 6 hours then woke up in time for a party at our house with family and the smarts. We had a yummy bake potatoe bar and visited. This year I was lame I was wore out and tired still from practice and about 9:30 we started a movie and I was out for the night usually I stay up and wait till midnight and it's not a problem but I guess I needed my sleep. Today for new years my family and carlie, ike, and Wytten are going to Maddox for lunch then to a movie so I guess Ill do my celebrating today. 2012 has been a great year but bring on 2013 and all the fun time that it will bring!!!!

Fun at the family farm

After getting all the snow we got we made a trip to the farm for some sleigh ridding and clay piegon shooting...!! It was definetly an experience! I usually am scared of shooting the "big boy" guns but I decided it was time for me to get over it and learn how... I think my family go a kick out of watching me. I obviously didn't understand how important it was to hold it tight against your shoulder the first time.. I never thought it would hurt so bad when it kicked back but it was just one of those moments that we all laughed i wish we would have videoed it to see the suprised look on my face! After learning a lesson I shot again and it was a much smoother shot!!! It was a fun outting to just go to your own private place and enjoy family time!:)

Christmas Excitment

This years christmas was a blast as usual at the owen household.... We had lots of fun events leading up to the special day.... Christmas eve we started a new tradition last year that we had breakfast as a family and continued that tradition... later on we headed over to my grandma marlenes for a party where we had lots of yummy appetizers and played games.... We then headed over the the scofields for a traditional christmas eve party and darins 50 birthday never a dole moment there lots of laughs watching the boys play just dance and drinking the usual coke in the old fashion bottles. Later on that night we headed over to my grandma jb's to open are 1st present.... I couldn't wait to see what it was surprisingly we got pajamas ha:) Then it was time to head home and get ready for bed for Santa Claus to come... As a tradition we all sleep in the same room on Christmas eve so we slept down stairs in shaunies room I fell asleep quickly but about every 30 minutes I got a tap on the shoulder from dixon "marlie what time is it can we get up yet?" and me being someone who wants my sleep would say dixon it's 1:30 be quit and go back to bed! and contiued to wake up about every 30 minutes until 4 a.m. when he told us to wake up to open presents by 4:30 we were all ready to start opening presents me and shaunie were half asleep still but dixon had all of his opened from Santa in less then 5 minutes. fianlly after fully waking up I tore into my presents i must have been extra good because I was super spoiled! Santa brought my clothes, car charger for my ipod, itunes card, and a laptop. My parents gave me new pants, lots of shirts, victoria secret hoodies, scarfs, and jewelery. Dixon gave me a laptop case, shaunie gave me a new mirror to do my make-up at and shellac, carlie and ike gave me boot warmers and lotion. My grandma JaDene and grandpa Dick gave me a new UV nail light, 25 new nail stamping plates, JCrew bubble necklace and earings. Tawnie Johnnie and kids gave me a cute scarf and necklace. My grandma Marlene gave me 2 cute scarfs from the carribean and my grandma Connie and Papa Dean gave me a new soft blanket.... I was also pretty excited to give the gifts that I had got for my family.... I got my mom, dad, carlie, and ike a canvas picture of the brigham temple, shaunie I made her a chalk board gave her a movie and phone case, dixon I got new ipod charger and itunes card, and wytten I got baby food and a rock n' roll elmo. I think christmas was a success this year and sad its over but the count down just starts again to next year.
